"The annual cost of providing a basic education for all children in peripheral countries would be around $6 billion, which is lessthan the annual sales of cosmetics in the United States."

"Providing water and sanitation for everyone in peripheral countries is estimated at $9 billion peryear, which is less than Europeans' annual expenditure on ice cream."

I'm sitting in a coffeeshop sucking down a cappuchino...I wonder what the annual expenditure by Americans is on gormet coffee drinks...I have a feeling it might be up there with cosmetics and ice cream.

Katy.. I can feel your rage!

This reminds me of something I did back home where I would send a mere Php 40.00 which is about less than a dollar a week to this organization so that ONE kid can go to school.
